Luca Bacelli - Cello


Born in Pesaro, he began studying the cello with Sante Amadori, and graduated with honors from the Conservatory of Music "G. Rossini in Pesaro, under the guidance of Maestro Walter Di Stefano. He improved later with Marianne Chen, Andrea Nannoni, Enrico Bronzi and Giorgio Schultis. He achieved with full honors the second level academic degree in chamber music at the Conservatory "B. Maderna " in Cesena and gained the Master Degree in Chamber Music at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien in Hannover. 

He studied chamber music with piano at the International Piano Academy "Incontri col Maestro” in Imola, course held by Pier Narciso Masi, earning there the prestigious Master degree. He attended also the special courses held by the Trio di Parma at Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, the string quartet courses held by the Artemis and Prometeo quartets and the chamber music classes taken from Altenberg Trio Wien at the Academy of Music in Pinerolo.

Cellist of Trio Degas from its birth and of the Mirus string quartet, he had many experiences in chamber music: he has performed in many concerts as a soloist with orchestra and in chamber music, in Italy and Europe, getting consents from audiences and critics. He performed many times for prestigious concert seasons and gained statements in national and international music competitions for chamber music. 

Principal cellist of Orchestra Sinfonica G. Rossini in Pesaro, currently he plays and works, even as  principal cellist, with many symphonic and chamber orchestras. He played  beside internationally renowned conductors and musicians, such as C. Abbado, L. Maazel, G. Pretre, V. Gergiev, E. Inbal, D. Gatti, S. Accardo, N. Gutman. He was principal cellist of the Italian Youth Orchestra for two years and  a member of the Orchestra Mozart in Bologna, founded and conducted by Claudio Abbado. He is regularly invited to the projects of Spira Mirabilis.

Assegnee of numerous scholarships, he took part in recordings for Deutsche Grammophon, Harmonia Mundi, Rai, Amadeus.
