"OM - perfect simplicity"Daniele Carnio - Double bass
Daniele Carnio first studied Economics at the university before realizing he wanted to dedicate his life to music. He remembers Abbado as someone who didn’t talk much but was really charismatic. The rehearsals were really intense and Daniele could feel the presence of Abbado from the beginning to the end and even after. It was tiring but also motivating to rehearse with him; in the Orchestra Mozart Daniele feels that the happiness and joy flowing from Abbado have been transmitted to the musicians. He observes that in OM there was a research on the sound and on the interpretation of scores that he never found anywhere else. Daniele Carnio strongly believes on the social and educational role of music; his commitment to the Orchestra Mozart is related also to the workshops OM is organizing with children in Bologna.
Daniele Carnio gained a diploma as double bass player from the Conservatory of Castelfranco Veneto in 2002, under the direction of Andrea Dominijanni, before his specialist degree in double bass playing in 2008. In 2004 he took part in an orchestral and instrumental training project promoted by the Münchner Philarmoniker and in 2005 he gained a diploma from the Hochschüle of Nuremberg under the direction of Marc Dorin.
