Berhang started studying music at the age of 4 at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole in Firenze. He felt really free when he played in the Orchestra Mozart as he considered that Abbado let the musicians do the things the way they wanted as long as the result was excellent. He first met Abbado in the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester in 2004. He perfectly remembers when he first saw Abbado during the rehearsal for the 9th symphony of Mahler. He had high expectations, as he wanted to understand what Abbado did with his hands. When Abbado arrived at the rehearsal, he directed the musicians in such a way that they created an amazing sound. They were all amazed by this performance. Abbado had used the orchestra as if it was an instrument. To Behrang, OM means excellent quality and a deep relationship with music. Playing the viola offers him the possibility to do an amazing job. The viola represents his life.
