The first concert after three years; the new era of the Orchestra Mozart begins with this event, made possibile by Bernard Haitink and Isabelle Faust, two of the great OM friends who have immediately answered our call. Two shining stars of the classical music panorama who have made the history of the Orchestra Mozart and who will be the very protagonists of its future.
The fact that Maestro Haitink will conduct the first concert speaks volumes about the relevance of this event, and it underlines our will to be linked with the great OM past; it was M° Haitink who conducted the last OM concert in Vienna and Bologna in 2013. And the presence of Isabelle Faust shines a light on the future of OM, supported by the excellent recordings Ms Faust and the Orchestra Mozart have realized together in the past years.
The concert will take place on the 6th of January 2017 in Bologna (Teatro Manzoni) and will then replicate on the 8th in Lugano (LAC - Lugano Art and Culture), an event that underlines the international appeal of OM Encore and its resonance in many prestigious cultural institutions.
The concert programme will include the Egmont Ouverture by Ludwig van Beethoven, Beethoven’s violin concerto in D major op. 61 and Robert Schumann’s Symphony n. 3 - Rhenish - in E flat major op. 97.
