From the 6th to the 8th of April 2018 the Orchestra Mozart will be back to Bologna for a Festival with two symphonic concerts with Bernard Haitink, the pianist Paul Lewis (April, 6) and the violinist Vilde Frang (April, 8) and a chamber music concert on the 7th with theSolisti dell’Orchestra Mozart.
The Orchestra will play in Bologna after four concerts at the prestigious LAC in Lugano during the Easter holidays.
The programmes of the OM Festival are strongly linked one to the other; Mozart and Schubert, Schubert and Mozart in an almost palindrome opposition represent a “there and back again” path, a metaphoric representation of the influence Mozart had on Schubert. Thus, the tonality: the first programme begins and ends in C major, the second programme ends in C major as well. With the exception of Mozart’s violin concert in A major, the other compositions belong to the artistic maturity of both Mozart and Schubert; Mozart’s piano concerto n.25 is the third from last of this beautiful series, the “Jupiter” symphony is notoriously the last and Schubert’s n.8 and n.9 are the last two (with all the necessary prudence one needs when dealing when Schubert’s symphonies numeration).
